Debating on whether to wait until the envy comes out June 27th or just get the MBP 13 now. Envy 14 starts out at $999 and the MBP is $1199, although the envy has the i5 processor. Not sure, I like the mac os better though.Hp Envy 14 or Macbook pro 13?
Macbook pro 13
Display:
14.5 inch screen VS 13.3 inch screen. I guess this is preference, and thats up to you. One thing to keep in mind is that the screen in the envy 14 is one of the brightest screens in the market, and its 1600x900 resolution is much higher quality than the 1280x800 the mac offers. Much, much.. much much much higher.
Processor:
Core i5 vs Core 2 duo. No comparison. On the Envy 14, you will have the option to upgrade to core i7. Even if you choose not to do so, on the Envy, the processor is changeable, so you can do so at a later time (although it will void you warranty). On the apple, the processor is welded on, so you will not be able to change that, ever. You'll be stuck with obsolete technology. Also, the front side bus operates at 1333mhz on the envy, and 1066 on the mac.
Graphics:
The graphics on the envy will blow the mac away. It has a high end graphics card, I believe the same one found in the dell xps 16 ( ati hd 5650 1gb). I know its switchable, meaning you could turn it off when your not using it for heavy gpu processing, and save tremendous battery life. I'm not sure if the mac has this, it probably does, but even so, when it is turned on its not half as powerful as the card found in the envy. And you will actually get a chance to see this first hand, as it comes with windows 7, and there is a huge game library. Whether you like mac or windows better, it is not opinion that the gaming library for windows completely trumps apples.
.
-Envy 14 has a high definition webcam with infared technology for use in complete darkness, macbook has standard iSight technology.
-Envy offers slice battery for 1.5X extra battery.
-Envy offers built in gobi chip for wireless internet and gps.
-Envy has hdmi output and not that horriblly stupid mini display port the mac offers.
There are a million other reasons why the Envy is better, I listed all the major hardware restrictions, things you can not ever change. I'm not going to mention hard drive space because hard drives are easily changeable..
I'd be waiting with you if I didn't already have an envy 15. :DHp Envy 14 or Macbook pro 13?
You're opening a can of worms here. The classic "Mac vs. PC" argument.
That being said, you'll hear a lot about how Macs are better than PCs. And you'll hear a lot about how PCs are better than Macs. Here's a quick guide that might help you:
1: Are you using the computer for school?
If so, consult with the tech folks at your school. They will be able to provide you with information on whether a Mac or a PC is best for you. They can also provide you with some good 1 on 1 expertise as far as what would fit your needs.
2: Are you buying it for gaming?
On the whole, PCs are better for gaming. Many modern games will run fine on Macs (such as WoW), but in general, if you're a gamer, a PC is probably the way to go.
3: Are you computer-literate?
PCs take much more care and feeding than Macs do. You have to keep the virus software updated, do regular malware sweeps, be careful about what you download and run, etc. Macs make securing your computer much easier. There are very few viruses and malware programs designed to attack Macs. They tend to hold up much better from a software prospective than PCs do. And I have also noticed that many novice computer users are just as comfortable (or uncomfortable) using a Mac as they are using a PC.
Hopefully that should assist. Personally, I own a home-built desktop PC that I use for gaming, and a MacBook Pro 13" that I use for mobile computing. The software I use most is available for both Mac and PC, so I really don't notice a big difference.
I suggest you go with whatever fits your budget and your computing needs best. Don't believe anyone who says that a Mac is "better" or "worse" than a PC. You get what you pay for. And I think most people would be just as happy with a $1200 PC as they would with a $1200 Mac. Sure, the upfront cost might be a little higher on the Mac side, but the maintenance cost is generally lower, so you pretty much even out in the end.
Go with Macbook pro 13

really depends on what you want to do. Macs are great for media creation and editing and Windows is more open for games (although there are a few games shared on both platforms such as WoW, Valve's Steam program, etc...)
macbook pro 13, i have one and its awesome!! very satisfied, the new macbook pro 13 inch has a 10 hour battery!!
Personally I like Windows 7, so for me it's a no-brainer: HP Envy.
hp envy it's cheaper and better
