It looks like a good laptop for $999. But i heard a lot of bad things about HP. Should i get a $1200 macbook pro instead?Should i get the envy 14 laptop?
That will depend on you. If your a person who likes pretty things and doesn't care about what the laptop is actually made of, will probably use it for things like editing videos, worries about viruses from visiting "special sites" downloading photos or basically anything not related to serious work then I'd recommend Mac.
If you're a person who values a swords ability to cut, rather than shine, will need it to do school or career work, want to get things done and care whether the laptop is actually worth the price, then I'd recommend Envy.
The macbook pro is 100,000,000% better.

If you have the money i would go with apple but it depends on what you want to do with it
