HP Envy 14: Good all around laptop?

As a college student, I am in need of a reliable laptop to help complete assignments and papers. A computer that can browse the web, view videos and clips, and be fast and powerful.

My only real question is this: Is the HP Envy 14 a good computer to use for a college student? If it isn't, what is?

Also: Can this game handle basic browser-based games? Nothing huge like World of Warcraft obviously, but just simple browser games.HP Envy 14: Good all around laptop?
The screen: some one may complain this laptop never comes with radiance display anymore. Actually, the bright view screen is great, and it's even brighter and has more vibrate color than my wife's macbook pro.

The touchpad: This sandy bridge refresh version has a nearly as good as macbook touchpad. Multigesture, two finger scroll and pinch zoom all work smoothly. Just remember don't update the synaptics drive. New driver doesn't support double-tab to turn off touchpad feature.
The hp envy 14 pc is good for everyday things and I also bought this for gaming purpose because the hp envy 14 has a really graphics card and I actually own hp envy 14 2010 version so nearly two years old processor speed and boot up and shut down times are still so fast like a MBP pro

HP Envy 14: Good all around laptop?
Hi, I'm a junior in college and a computer forensic major. I own a HP dv6 pavilion and a macbook pro, and from my experience HP is a great laptop line. I've had two HP's in my life, one through high school and the second my first two years of college. They Perfect for everything you'll need it for especially a HP envy. As far a portability go, you might have a problem. They can sometimes be on the heavy side. My HP was a 15' and with my books, carrying around that on campus was torture.

But it can handle basic stuff like email, to games like the sims. Only thing you might take into consideration is the price and make sure you add a warranty on your laptop. PC's seem to start to deteriorate after 2 years. And make sure you invest in Microsoft office, thats basically all you need.

Good luck, I hope that helps :)

and sorry for the grammatical errors
First off, almost ANY new laptop can run browser games. The envy is capable of, say, Cod. However, the envy is vastly overpriced, especially after losing it's high quality screen in favor of "beats audio" which really isn't much better than most laptops.

The alienware m14x is faster, and is at the same price point as the envy. ($1200)
