Mac book 13.3 HP Envy 14.5
screen size: HP Envy Perfect but I didn't like windows 7 and I always wanted an Apple Laptop
outside look they both look good but the HP Envy looks better IMOMac Book or HP Envy?
Design, Portability, and Usability
Apple has long led the way when it comes to notebook design. Its laptops鈥?aluminum unibody construction is not only first-rate in terms of looks, but also feels durable too. However, the HP Envy鈥檚 bronze metal etched lid and deck is every bit as stylish as the MacBook Pro.
Both notebooks feature comfortable, island-style keyboards, but the MBP鈥檚 4.1 x 3-inch touchpad is not only larger than the Envy 14鈥檚 (4.25 x 2.5), but is easier to use鈥揌P鈥檚 improvements notwithstanding.
Naturally, the Envy 14鈥檚 larger screen size necessitates a bigger chassis and heavier weight. While both are roughly 1 inch in thickness, the Envy 14鈥檚 footprint is 14 x 9.3 inches to the MacBook Pro鈥檚 12.8 x 8.9 inches. Also, the Envy 14 weighs 5.4 pounds, compared to 4.4 pounds for the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
Winner: MacBook Pro
Display
In terms of sheer size and pixel count, the Envy 14 carries the day. Its 14.5-inch screen has a resolution of 1600 x 900, which is much greater than the MacBook Pro鈥檚 13.3-inch, 1280 x 800-pixel resolution screen. However, in terms of image quality, the two are evenly matched: The HP鈥檚 Radiance Infinity screen was as bright, crisp, and saturated as the MacBook Pro鈥檚.
Winner: HP Envy 14
Performance
The HP Envy 14鈥檚 more powerful components led it to outperform the MacBook Pro in most areas. The Envy 14 uses a 2.4-GHz Intel Core i5-450M, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB, 7,200-rpm hard drive. The MacBook Pro has a 2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600, 4GB of RAM, and a 250GB, 5,400-rpm hard drive.
Before we delve into numbers, a little disclaimer: The MacBook Pro鈥檚 performance scores were taken while the system was running Windows 7 in Boot Camp mode.
Winner: HP Envy 14
Graphics
The Envy 14 features switchable graphics in the form of integrated Intel GMA HD and a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 with 1GB of memory. By contrast, the MacBook pro has an Nvidia GeForce GT 320M GPU with 256MB of memory. Here too, the HP was a bit more powerful.
Winner: HP Envy 14
Battery Life
One of the biggest drawbacks of the Envy 14 is its battery life: On the LAPTOP Battery test (Web surfing via Wi-Fi) the machine lasted just 4 hours and 26 minutes. That鈥檚 about 3 hours and 20 minutes less than the MacBook Pro (7:48).
Winner: Apple MacBook Pro
Value and Verdict
The HP Envy we tested costs $1,289, the MacBook Pro was $1,199. So, which one should you get? Well, if you value endurance and portability, there鈥檚 no question that the lighter and longer-lasting 13-inch MacBook Pro is the better value. But if pure performance is what you鈥檙e after, then the HP Envy represents the better deal.
Due to the fact that HP has a 3-year failure rate of over 25%, I would not recommend the HP. Shoddy parts make for cheaply built computers.
I don't really like Macs because they cost WAY too much for the specs you get. Go with ASUS. They have the lowest failure rate of any national laptop manufacturer, they have a warranty that includes accidental damage, which you won't find from any other major brand, and they are really nice machines for the price you pay. sure a HP or a Dell is cheaper, but you get what you pay for. Mathematically speaking, you could buy a $800 machine that will last for 5 years, or you can buy a $600 machine that will last for 2, 3 if you are lucky. For me, its an obvious choice, but you are your own person, make the choice that makes sense to you.Mac Book or HP Envy?
After reading the utterly disgusting feedback you were receiving, I finally forced myself to write this message. It is clearly obvious upon which notebook to buy, as you've stated it yourself with the clear bias of "looks better IMO (in my opinion)". I can conclude that based on your asking of this question, you are looking for support in your decision that you already knew was correct and the best choice for you. It is with no doubt that I believe in the future you will be able to make such decisions on your own. I wish you the best of luck.
Tldr: Hp Envy
The reason it's called HP Envy is because HP owners Envy people that own a laptop that lasts more than a year or two.
BTW, you should look into the MacBook Pro instead of the MacBook White; MBP has a better processor (2nd gen Core i series) and better battery life. If you don't mind spending a little more, you could also go with a refurbished MacBook Pro 15 in either the 2010 model or the current model.
Apple MacBook MC516LL/A fastest, most powerful MacBook yet. It now features next-generation NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and 2 GB of memory. That means MacBook can handle everything from surfing the web to the most graphically intense 3D games with ease. It also features up to 10 hours of battery life and a glass Multi-Touch trackpad that supports inertial scrolling, right-clicking, and Multi-Touch gestures. All in a streamlined, durable unibody enclosure.
You know what they say about knock offs; they're never quite ...
I'd say MacBook buttttt go and look at them in the shop, compare and see which one suits you best! In a lot of shops you can try them out first so maybe try that? :) Good luck!
