Which Laptop is better for a college student in terms of style, performance, price and durbility?

Macbook Pro 13 inch 2010 vs Hp ENvy 14, im leaning towards the mac cause of its battery life, durability, and style, but was dissapointed that Apple decided to keep the intel core 2 duo processor? will be there be an update of processors any time soon?Which Laptop is better for a college student in terms of style, performance, price and durbility?
You can get a 10% student discount if you sign up at HP. With the radiance screen, 500gb hdd, and i5 450 cpu, it costs $1268 or so. It has a way better gpu than the macbook pro 13 and a newer and faster cpu as well. The radiance screen has a higher resolution as well with 1600 x 900 vs 1280 x 800 on the macbook pro 13. Although I'm not a huge fan of HP, HP's envy line is their premium line of notebooks, so these are an exception. It's built with high quality materials and not cheap plastic materials you see a lot in today's notebooks.

The only thing that the macbook pro 13 has it going for it is better portability, longer battery life, and much more intuitive touch-pad.

Bottom-line: If you're going to be gaming quite a bit and need to use it for more gpu-intensive apps, go with the hp envy 14. Otherwise, if you want portability and long battery life, go with the macbook pro 13.
It is a matter of what you need in an os. Will the Mac platform work for you or is windows the better one? Both notebooks are good but the MacBook has more durability and a proven track record. However the hardware is superior on the hp envy.

The core 2 is not a bad performing processor and I suspect that you will hard pressed to see that much of a difference between a i3 and core 2 duo. On the other hand he i5 is superior and a notice improvement.

Remember to compare Mac os x with with windows professional or ultimate. Home premium does not have the full feature set found in the Mac osx. It is not fair to compare home premium directly with osx in terms of price since home premium is limited.Which Laptop is better for a college student in terms of style, performance, price and durbility?

Top laptop choices for college include Dell, Apple Macbook Pro, HP, Compaq,IBM, Sony or Toshiba. Apple's 13-inch MacBook is a prime example. They tend to perform better than the counterparts in the value category or ultra-portables but they are smaller and more portable than the large media oriented desktop replacement laptops.

Well both the brands is indeed a really good laptops, secondly I would suggest that you should check out some of the other branded laptops as well such as:

1) Dell

2) Acer

3) Sony

4) Asus

These brands are indeed a really brands and plus the ones you have mentioned above.
I don't know of any upcoming processor updates. In fact, Apple using the new Core i processors is a fairly recent processor update. I recommend the HP Envy. It has better specs, a bigger screen and runs Windows 7 (a plus in my opinion).
