Envy 14 beats or Macbook pro?

Looking for which laptop will be best given the following uses:

DJing (MIDI support and sound quality)

Composing Music (the real question here is Fruity Loops, or Live Studio)

Everyday Tasks (web, essays, movies...)

Gaming (good res and fps with battlefield 2 as benchmark)

Budget is $1500.00-$2000.00 (obviously would like to keep it low)

My Boss uses MacBook PRO 17", and i see it working good, But if you are buying and want best price, try this - it should help you find the cheapest items of any kind:- much easier than ordinary GOOGLE SEARCH but forms part of it, or yahoo / MSN search: - it's a FREE small WINDOWS app program that you can download and activate - works fast, gives ALL info %26amp; pix in one hit. Works great for me and my friends. - - http://www.myshoppinggenie.com/coupons/coupons.aspx?c=88229
Try the 15" MacBook Pro and set it up with how much you want to spend.Envy 14 beats or Macbook pro?
Any recent model laptop should do, more memory and CPU obviously will perform better. For gaming the videocard will be important, for music I would suggest getting a decent USB interface like the M-Audio Fast Track or the Tascam US-122mkII. Laptop soundcards aren't good for music production imo. Also, if you're trying to decide between FL Studio and Ableton Live, just demo both well. I have both a end up using FL Studio Producer Edition 99% of the time, but you may like Ableton better, the choice is yours only. In case you go for FL Studio here's a link for 10% discount: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/sho鈥?/a>

I would suggest to first figure out what you need in software and hardware and then see what money is left for the laptop and what you can get for that. Then shop around for the best deal (most CPU/memory, good videocard etc).

Good luck!

btw, FL Studio doens't run natively on Mac so if you go for Mac you'll be spending a lot more on a copy of Windows to run FL Studio in Bootcamp... I think many games, including Battlefield 2, don't run on Mac either, so I'm not sure if a Mac is a good idea for you.
mac is good for music and gives u alot to work with. I am a fruityloops man myself so i just partioned my mac so it can run windows 7 as well. so i am set. i reccomend it
