Macbook Pro are good, fast and so light weight to carry anywhere. You can check this out at

Read this opinion from an actual user, and you'll know why I recommend this laptop

If you still want to get the HP envy 1, you may find a good price for it here

If you get the recommended HP it is actually quite a bit better than the equally priced Mac. It really comes down to what you want though. Just remember Apple is overpriced, mainly about image, and they will probably come out with something better than that laptop in a few months.Whats better a macbook pro 13 inch or the HP envy 14?
a Pro Book Mac hp is stupid lol
Depends upon where u live..i knw mac wud be better but if u dont have a service centre in range it might cause u a problem..so it is up to you..:-D
just the facts here :
apple is really just Linux. at its core is a modified Unix OS. this is why they claim it is more stable than windows and more virus protected. but so is Linux and its free. the apple is a PC for all intents and purposes the same Intel processor is in a PC . (that's why people can run windows in boot camp)
also with the mac your stuck at a max of 8gb of ram compared to the hp's 16 GB ceiling.
so to recap mac is overpriced Linux. the upgrade parts will cost you a fortune.
now to the hp :(
hp are not without there faults either though. they often times come with lots and lots of "bloat ware"
software trials and games and dial up software you do not want. though this is removable but somewhat time consuming.
also second rate tech support from a third world country. but they were(are) much better than several other companies I can mention.
so what would I do ?
I would shop around look @toshiba they have some very good laptops with great specs.
but you only said these 2.
I would go with the hp. I would partition the drive and run windows 7 and a version of Linux to have the equivalent of the mac. and save a few bucks.
I would upgrade to the best processor I could afford and don't worry about ram it is something you can easily upgrade yourself, for way way less.
