I would be bias but I will stay away from Acer and Hp because of their problems on design and durability. Acer looks cheap. Although Hp has better design, it has lots of problems on its hardware. Most repair technicians have difficulties handling Hp problems.



Try to check products of ASUS and Toshiba.

Acer is a BUDGET make, the build quality of these things are 'OK'
HP however, is one of the most reliable makes there are.
I have worked with ALL laptop makes but Lenovo and HP are by far the best.
The HP has a smaller screen and costs more but you'll have it for a long long time.
Also HP battery are very sturdy and will go on and on for many years.
I cannot say the same for Acer.

If you want the big 17 inch screen and 'comparable' hardware to the HP then the Acer is for you.
They are both quite equal actually.
If you'll be buying a new laptop in a few years anyway then just take the cheapest one.What Laptop is better?
It's not the brand that matters, it's what's inside.

In this case the HP ENVY has better specs, so go for it.

I have had an Acer for almost 4 years and I am very satisfied with it, I also had an HP for over 5 years and was very satisfied with it, so like I said it's not the brand that matters...
