Which one better. Custom Desktop or Laptop?

Here's the situation,



I own a Custom Built Computer :

250gb 5400rpm

4gb Ram DDR 2 800mhz

4770 GPU

Windows 7 HP

Personally i want to use my laptop to replace my Custom rig but which one has the best performance? i built my custom rig under budget so now soo good :) and 3 core processor is KINDA weird. :) ThanksWhich one better. Custom Desktop or Laptop?
I have a 3 core processor. Its fantastic, because you get great performance but dont have to spend so much. Your current rig is fine rly. As for the laptop...fantastic processor, yeah, good ram, 5650 is descent card for sure. Desktops are better because they are much more upgradeable and come with less problems. Laptops are good for those on the go. Honestly, if I were you I would just upgrade my desktop a bit. Get a 5850, leave the ram, and upgrade that processor to an AMD quad core or (if your mobo supports it) a AMD six core %26lt;--------------------AMAZING processor apparently!



Performance wise, your laptop might have a slight edge, but they are pretty similar. Mobile processors don't perform as well as their desktop counterparts, and same can be said for the graphics cards.

but as laptop is relatively delicate it's purpose varies on your use

If you are hard core gamer i recommend desktop
