How do I set a screen's resolution higher than native?

It's on an ENVY 14 laptop. I realize that I won't actually be "gaining" resolution, and that it will basically just be down-scaling it.That's fine, I just need it at a higher resolution than what it currently is.

Any help? How do I set a screen's resolution higher than native?
The monitor's pixels are at it's highest possible. Pixels can't show two colors at one time, resulting in the inability to make the resolution any higher. Your graphics card may also not be able to view anything higher than what it is already set to.How do I set a screen's resolution higher than native?
You don't because it probably won't display anything.
